Registered Dietitian

Meeting with a Registered Dietitian (RD) guarantees you are meeting with a nutrition expert. RD's have completed at least a bachelor's degree (many complete advanced degrees) in nutrition at an accredited college or university.


To achieve registration status, the individual must then complete a minimum of a 900-hour dietetic internship, after which a national board examination must be passed. In addition, many states also require that a dietitian be licensed in the state in which they are practicing (LDN), as in the case of North Carolina. Lastly, continuing education is required to maintain registration status.
